The Chief Designer for Hailun is American George F. Emerson. With 32 years of piano design experience with well-known companies such as Baldwin Piano and Organ as well as Mason & Hamlin, Mr. Emerson’s unique expertise has lead to innovative contributions to Hailun’s production work.

Tuning, voicing and sound quality are the purview of European Zlatkovic Sibin. Mr. Sibin counts 20 years in the industry and was affiliated with the famous European piano builder Bosendorfer.

Senior Technical Advisor, Austrian Peter Veletzky, has spent his life in the piano building business. He became, at the age of 22, the youngest person in Austria at that time to become a licensed piano producer.

Ema Shigeru of Japan serves as Head of Production for Grand Pianos. With over 30 years of experience with Kawai, Mr. Shigeru also worked at Asahi. Personally examining every grand piano produced at Hailun, Mr. Shigeru’s dedication and commitment to excellence are evidenced by the consistent quality of Hailun Grands.

The Ningbo Hailun Musical Instruments Co Ltd began as a successful manufacturer of piano parts to the world’s piano market. In 1986, Hailun became an independent company and, using the newest and most advanced technologies, began to produce pianos.
CNC (Computer Numerical Control) governs both production and assembly line processes as a part of Hailun’s objective to ensure that the quality of product meets world standards. “Five Axis Machining” is used throughout
the production process. This technology ensures that all components are machined to exacting tolerances and guarantees precision outcomes.

Hailun has developed a unique T-shaped metal reinforcement that prevents any change in shape of the keybed. Also, relying on Hailun’s 20 year history in creating and manufacturing metal parts for the international piano industry, Hailun uses a special technology to create tuning pins fitted in a high-quality pin block

In conjunction with a 2005 Peace Celebration, a Hailun-built Grand Piano was featured in Vienna's Golden Concert Hall; the first time in history a Chinese-made instrument was so spotlighted.

Ningbo Hailun Musical Instruments Co Ltd has earned the coveted ISO9001:2000 Certificate of Quality Management. In addition, Hailun was recently feted by the China Government as a recipient of the prestigious “Outstanding Brand” Award. This award, presented only once every three years, has been given to only four manufacturers of China’s 180 piano building companies and represents an acknowledgment of outstanding contribution.
Hailun pianos are distributed in China and internationally to Japan, Europe and now to the United States. The international Dealer Network has expanded significantly in the past three years and is currently enjoying substantial growth. Sales organizations are operational on three continents supported by the strategically planned development of production in a facility of 540,000 square feet and an annual capacity of 12,000+ quality instruments.
